Alison Goldfrapp

What’s On Brighton Highlights

2/3 @Brighton Dome 7pm

Primarily known as the lead singer of the act that shares her name, Goldfrapp has been at the cutting edge of electronic music for three decades. Introduced in 1994 when she appeared on Orbital’s Snivilisation album, she went on to record with Dreadzone, Tricky and collaborated with Stefan Giradet on the soundtrack to the film The Confessional. In 1999 she was introduced to composer Will Gregory and they signed to Mute Records as Goldfrapp. Their debut album, Felt Mountain, was released the following year to critical acclaim and was nominated for the Mercury Music Award. Six albums followed with the duo receiving numerous Grammy nominations and two Ivor Novello wins. Last year Alison announced that she would be releasing music as a solo artist and after collaborating with Royksopp on Impossible she finally unleashed her debut solo album, The Love Invention, which reached number six in the UK album charts.
