Animal lovers unite and gather yourself and your furry friends for an afternoon dedicated to man’s best friend. Paws on the Lawn presented at One Garden Brighton in Stanmer Park promises to be more fun than you can chase a stick at!

One Garden’s dog show ‘Paws on the Lawn’ aims to bring together the doggos of Brighton and beyond for a day of fun, games and local (dog and human) food. The chosen charity for the day is the RSPCA. You will also be able to purchase dog supplies, take part in themed competitions and much, much  more.

This year the event will be presented by Brighton’s favourite vet, Dr Marc Abraham OBE, or ‘Marc the Vet’ as he’s commonly known. Marc is a multi-award-winning veterinary surgeon, author, broadcaster, and animal welfare campaigner who also founded the puppy farm awareness campaign ‘Pup Aid’, and led the successful ‘Lucy’s Law’ campaign in Westminster to ban commercial third party puppy and kitten sellers, e.g. pet shops, making all UK dog and cat breeders accountable.

Based in Brighton, Marc is also the co-founder and secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Dog Advisory Welfare Group (APDAWG), appears regularly in the media, and visits local schools to chat with pupils about caring for animals and looking out for each other. He was recently awarded the OBE for services to animal welfare by His Royal Highness King Charles III.

Marc has recently finished making a documentary called ‘Dogspiracy’ – one to watch out for in forthcoming weeks.

The event starts at 11am and will continue until 3pm, there’s no need to book or buy tickets, just make sure you donate to the RSPCA charity boxes and enjoy the delicious food and drinks on sale during the day. There is pay and display car parking at Stanmer Park, and also a very regular bus service. The 25 bus stops at the edge of the park, or you can catch the number 78 which stops outside the church. Please remember to be respectful and keep your dogs on leads so everyone can enjoy the day safely.
