@The Walrus 17/7 18:45
The Space began in 2006 as an arts and media networking event but its focus soon became all about the guests. It features high profile names from the worlds of music, film and TV talking about their work in intimate venues around the city. Previous guests have included Bond composer David Arnold, Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and acclaimed film director Mike Leigh. Tonight, two very different, but equally as interesting, guests take to the stage. Jem Finer is a musician, composer, artist and one of the co-founders of The Pogues. He co-wrote their massive hit Fairytale of New York and, aside from Shane MacGowan, was the band’s most prolific composer. The second guest tonight is television presenter Gail Porter, who became a household name in the nineties with appearances on Live & Kicking, The Big Breakfast and Top of the Pops. She has recently moved into stand up comedy.
