Don Letts has had a colourful career since his residency as DJ at the legendary punk club The Roxy in 1977. As well as integrating reggae into the scene, he embraced the DIY ethic and shot his first film on Super-8mm. The Punk Rock Movie includes footage of the big names of the day and is an authentic depiction of those heady times. He went on to direct over 300 music videos for artists as diverse as Public Image and Bob Marley and joined Mick Jones from The Clash in Big Audio Dynamite. His documentaries have covered Gil Scot-Heron, The Jam and Paul McCartney. Tonight there is a screening of The Rebel Dread Film, which focuses on his life and career, before the author of Pressure Drop – Reggae in the Seventies and the worlds foremost reggae journalist, John Masouri, hosts a Q&A session with the man himself.
