BRAVO 2026 Brighton Restaurant Awards

This year marks a real milestone for Brighton’s hospitality scene. The Brighton Restaurant Awards Vote Online (BRAVO) returns in 2026 celebrating its 10th anniversary and a decade of championing the city’s independent cafés, pubs, restaurants, bakeries and bars.

What began ten years ago as a grassroots initiative to spotlight venues that make Brighton, Hove and Sussex so delicious has grown into one of the most anticipated moments in the local hospitality calendar. These aren’t industry-judged awards, they’re chosen by the people who live, work and explore our eclectic food scene, giving diners a real say in who gets recognised and why.

Voting for the 2026 BRAVOs opened on 10 February and runs until 10 March, with supporters encouraged to cast up to 18 votes across a wide range of categories that reflect the breadth of the local scene. From Best Restaurant and Best Sunday Roast to Best Cocktails, Best Takeaway, Best Team and the brand-new Best Sweets & Treats category celebrating artisan baking, gelato and dessert craftsmanship, there’s something for every kind of food lover to champion.

A decade on, the BRAVOs remain rooted in community and creativity. They’re designed not just to hand out trophies but to give visibility and momentum to the independents who have weathered rising costs, staffing pressures and economic uncertainty, venues that often don’t have the marketing budgets of bigger chains but whose loyal customers know exactly where to go for the best brunch, roast or evening tipple.

Sustainability is also centre stage in this year’s programme, with the Sustainability Champions category supported by the University of Brighton and tied into a toolkit that helps venues reduce waste, improve social impact and champion greener practices.

After four weeks of voting, the winners will be revealed on 31 March, as the 2026 BRAVOs bring a decade of local love to a fitting crescendo. If you’re a passionate foodie or someone who enjoys a great local pint, this landmark year is a reminder of the joy, community and sheer creativity in Brighton and Hove’s hospitality community, and the power of the vote to celebrate it.
