Shop local: Make shopping at Brighton Open Market your new year’s resolution

Right in the heart of Brighton’s London Road community, you’ll find a market like no other buzzing with life, colour and creativity.

Make 2026 the year you embrace shopping at Brighton Open Market. With over 40 permanent traders, pop-up stalls that truly bring Saturdays to life and a wonderful array of events throughout the year, the market has everything you need on your doorstep. Not only can you buy great fresh fruit and veg from Sarah; but with Ollie and Jason, we’ve got some of the best bacon and eggs you could dream of to take your breakfast to the next level! Need a joint for Sunday roast? Go and speak to Alison at The Butcher’s Cat; while Nwras has the best range of honey in the city.

If you fancy grabbing a bite to eat, Original Tony’s is opening a new pizzeria in January to go with the amazing Greek, Japanese, Korean, Bangladeshi and Mexican food we already have. Oh, and don’t forget our lovely cafés, great bakeries and Oli’s delicious bagels. If you’re doing Dry January, pop into The Drop and see Dech who’s got a huge range of non-alcoholic beers for you to enjoy, alongside a dizzying array of craft beer and natural wines.

But it’s not just about food and drink (although its all delicious)! Pop in and see Cam at Rooted & Co for plants, Mina for hand-poured candles, Vinyl Selector for some choice tunes, Simon for stylish vintage threads, and Greg for all your Pokémon needs!

This is a market where tradition and innovation sit side by side, and where every stall tells a story. New traders, old friends, one shared vision: a thriving market rooted in your community. Happy new year!
