CROWDED HOUSE

Sat 12th Oct 18:30 @Brighton Centre

Formed from the ashes of New Zealand band Split Enz by Neil Finn and Paul Hester in 1984, they changed their name to Crowded House after signing to Capitol Records the same year. Their debut album was released in 1986 to a muted response. Later that year they released Don’t Dream It’s Over, which became an international hit and gave them the Best New Artist Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. They took a break after touring their second album and Neil released material with his brother Tim, who joined the band when they reconvened. They disbanded in 1996. Ten years later the 5th studio album, Time On Earth, appeared and they have gone on to release a further three including this year’s Gravity Stairs. The latest incarnation of the band sees Neil Finn joined by his sons Elroy and Liam alongside longtime members Nick Seymour and Mitchell Froom.
