Open View at George Gallery George Gallery invites you to Open View, our late night gallery and wine bar, held Thursday to Saturday from 4pm to 11pm at our Brighton space on Duke Street. Open View offers a relaxed opportunity to experience the gallery after hours, with six contemporary artists currently on display. Visitors are welcome to explore the exhibition at their own pace, whether discovering the gallery for the first time or returning to spend more time with the work. Our in gallery wine bar is open throughout the evening, creating an informal setting to engage with the artworks and atmosphere. No reservations are required, and guests are welcome to arrive at any time during opening hours. Artists currently on view include Richard Berner, Estes Hansen, Bob & Eve, Daisy Doig, Ali McNally, and Matt Eley. George Gallery is located at 31 Duke Street, Brighton, in the heart of the city. 5 February to 21 March 2026 Thursdays to Saturdays, 4pm to 11pm

YONAKA: Live + Signing Brighton locals YONAKA, though first and foremost a rock band, are avid explorers of other genres. Their upcoming album has hints of pop, electronica and even hiphop resulting in songs that keep getting stuck in our heads! We can't wait to host them here in their hometown shop... Albums will be available to collect on the door at the event. Priority entry will go to those who purchase the album with instore access. If we have space for additional entries on the day, we will be able to let extra people in. Nine Sixteenths. In 2004, in the Super Bowl halftime show finale, 23-year-old Justin Timberlake ripped off 37-year-old Janet Jackson’s top. Her breast was exposed on screen for nine sixteenths of a second. A pop icon and role model for many black women, and an outspoken ally for the LGBTQ community, the moment derailed Jackson’s career for many years, while Timberlake’s thrived. Who was invested in the backlash? What does all this have to say about the demographics of who controls the media, and the ways in which black women are scrutinised in the public eye? From THE MALFUNCTION to THE AFTERMATH and a celebration of RECLAMATION, Nine Sixteenths is a journey through three acts, exploring themes of representation and pop culture with a nostalgia for the early 00’s, and the hopes and dreams of four black female performers through a visual variety of devised theatre, dance and lip sync.
