Plantoid + Trip Westerns. Progressive-rock frontiers Plantoid land on the Green Door stage, plunging guitar riffs into a sea of bass-driven hooks, tempo changes and catchy vocals. Their sound swims between psych-rock, jazz-flecked intermissions, and left-field experimentation. Support comes from Trip Westerns, a perfect match with their rustically cool, re-imagined blues.

Man The Lifeboats began life in a Skinny Lister shanty-punk folk moshpit in 2016, and are ploughing their own full-throttle folk furrow, winning over audiences everywhere and drawing comparisons to Bellowhead, Oysterband, the Levellers, and those folk-punk heroes the Pogues. The second album Soul Of Albion hit #27 in the Official Folk Charts in 2022. Recorded at Rockfield Studios, it sounds like Led Zeppelin arm-wrestling Shane McGowan in a Birmingham brewery, like Jimbob and Fruitbat fronting Fairport Convention, like The Albion Band turned up to 11 with their fiddles on fire, tonic for these troubled times. MTL are hitting the road again in 2026 in a leaner, meaner and greener duo line-up, road-testing new songs, bringing old ones back to life - come and join Rich and Aaron in some of the most intimate venues the country has to offer.

Balloon + Tim Keegan. Indie folk icon Balloon heads out on a first UK tour in more than 30 years to perform acoustic arrangements of songs from its two classic LPs. The band’s acclaimed 1992 debut Gravity was recorded at Daniel Lanois’ New Orleans studio by Michael Brook, and featured Sarah McLachlan. 2024’s eagerly-awaited follow up Gas ‘n’ Air was made in Mexico City, and was described as "a 24-carat masterpiece" by Luke Haines in Record Collector magazine. Balloon’s folk-soul sits alongside artists such as The Go-Betweens, Blue Nile, and Velvet Underground, and fans include journalist and broadcaster Pete Paphides and BBC DJ Gary Crowley. It will be the band’s first show in Brighton since backing legendary US comedian Bill Hicks at the Dome in 1992. Support comes from Tim Keegan. Tim has a long history of music-making behind him, including three solo albums and four with his band Departure Lounge, as well as many collaborations including with Kid Loco, Robyn Hitchcock, Josh Rouse and Saint Etienne.

Tessa Rose Jackson. Following the release of her album The Lighthouse, praised by The Guardian as “a personal oath of grief, grace and memory in a luminous folk rebirth,” the Dutch-British songwriter plays The Folklore Rooms. Lose yourself in beautifully arranged music that lands like poetry. Understated, honest, and fiercely powerful.

The Delines After a sellout show here in early 2025, the Country Soul favourites return to TOM as part of their new tour. To mark its 10th anniversary, their cult 2015 EP Scenic Sessions - originally a Rough Trade exclusive - is being reissued on limited bottle green vinyl this September. Recorded during a Portland heatwave, the raw, soulful collection emerged spontaneously during what was meant to be a short studio stint. "It felt like summer camp," says songwriter Willy Vlautin. Now one of the leading Soul Country bands on the scene, The Delines continue to win hearts with their rich storytelling, lush arrangements and cinematic Americana sound. With special guest Chris Eckman.

Folklore Sessions Presents; Dan Owen + Support April 4th 2026 The Folklore Rooms £17adv | 18+ Known for his arresting, husky vocals and gritty, blues-infused pop/rock, Dan Owen is a British alternative singer/songwriter from Shropshire, England. Owen became interested in music at an early age, taking up guitar at nine years old and performing with his sister, who had taken up singing. Their Dad encouraged them to perform at open-mike events at local pubs throughout their teens. After his sister left for University, Owen took to performing solo and began appearing at live events at various pubs and clubs throughout the area surrounding Shropshire. Performing under the name “Bluesboy Dan”, he gradually earned a committed fan base with his passionate versions of songs by artists such as Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker while also focusing on writing his own material.
