Hempwell / The UKs Most Trusted CBD Shop

30 Jan, 2025

Situated in the heart of the North Laine in Kensington Gardens, Brighton, you will find Hempwell, your one-stop-shop for all things CBD related.

Founded in 2017, the flagship store is located in York and what sets Hempwell apart from other CBD outlets, is the fact that they grow and manufacture their products themselves. Having cultivated in excess of 300 acres of organically grown CBD-rich hemp plants, the company has complete control over the entire growing process, from selecting EU certified seeds to extracting the oil. The products are manufactured at York Science Park and Hempwell are confident theirs is the most traceable CBD product on the market.

But how does CBD oil work? There has been indication that the product helps with pain, inflammation, sleep problems and anxiety to name a few. Every human body has what’s known as an endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is a complex cell-signaling system that plays a crucial role in regulating a wide range of physiological processes in the body. It consists of three main components:

Endocannabinoids: These are naturally occurring compounds in the body that resemble the active compounds found in hemp plants (Cannabis Sativa).

Receptors: The ECS has two main types of receptors—CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system, while CB2 receptors are mainly located in the peripheral nervous system, organs and immune cells. When endocannabinoids bind to these receptors, they trigger various physiological responses.

Enzymes: These are responsible for the synthesis and degradation of endocannabinoids.

The ECS helps regulate many key body functions, including:

  • Pain sensation- Mood and emotional responses
  • Appetite and metabolism
  • Immune function
  • Memory and learning
  • Sleep-wake cycles

Dysfunction in the ECS has been linked to various health conditions, such as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and neurodegenerative diseases. Research is ongoing to understand the ECS better and its potential therapeutic applications, including the use of cannabinoids from hemp for medical purposes, which is where CBD oil comes into play.

CBD is non psychoactive, so you won’t feel any strange affects and it is administered with a dropper under the tongue.

Make sure you visit Hempwell to find out more about how CBD may benefit you. There are many products available including; CBD oil, pain relieving cream, massage oils, moisturisers, bath bombs, tea and coffee If you are new to CBD, HempWell have their own starter kits, which includes smaller samples of products and a 40-page information booklet, they have starter kits for Pain Relief, Sleep and Stress.
