Lloyd Cole

31/10 Lloyd Cole is a singer-songwriter born in Buxton, Derbyshire. He eventually ended up studying at the University of Glasgow where he met a group of musicians that would go on to change his life forever as they formed The Commotions and quickly signed a publishing deal with CBS. The band signed to Polydor in 1984 and their debut single, Perfect Skin, reached number 24 in the UK singles chart earning them their first appearance on Top of The Pops. In October the same year they released the album, Rattlesnakes, which garnered universal critical acclaim and stayed in the UK Top 100 for 12 months. The band split in 1988 when Cole moved to New York, continuing to write and record. He has recently released his twelfth studio album as a solo artist, On Pain, reuniting with Commotions founder members Blair Cowan and Neil Clark. Get ready to be heartbroken. brightondome.org
