One Garden Brighton: events in December

28 Nov, 2025

As December unfolds at One Garden Brighton in Stanmer Park, the garden transforms into a warm and immersive space of seasonal celebration, where shopping, eating and thoughtfully curated events converge to deliver festive inspiration.

For visitors looking to capture the spirit of Christmas and enjoy fresh air, this garden destination really delivers. The month opens with a well-loved creative running theme: the Monthly Watercolour & Mixed Media Workshop takes place early in December, offering a relaxed but focused session for both beginners and more experienced creatives. Then the Crafty Christmas Herbal Workshops span 6–14 December, inviting participants to engage in making herbal-based gifts and decorations in a mindful way. On 6 December there are dedicated Christmas Wreath Making sessions, a morning slot at 10:30 and an afternoon slot at 13:30, and again on 7  December at 11:00.

Mid-month, the iconic Winter Solstice Celebrations are held over two weekends: 12–13 December and again 19–20 December, each evening from 16:00–20:00. These bring live music, light installations, street food and craft stalls into the garden’s heritage setting. Also for children and families there are Winter Tales Storytelling sessions scattered through the month, each inviting young visitors into the cosy barn space for myth, folklore and seasonal wonder.

Meanwhile, the café at One Kitchen offers a relaxed sociable spot for brunch or lunch, featuring freshly baked cakes and coffee, and a winter-special lunch menu. One Market complements the day out under the roof of the historic garden centre – you’ll find plants grown on site, local-producer cheeses and cured meats, and the garden’s own estate wine from Plumpton College. It’s engaged, local and distinct from the usual high-street fare, making excellent Christmas gifts.

The combination of restored heritage, community-driven events, strong producer ethos, and a genuinely welcoming aesthetic makes One Garden Brighton this December feel like a proper destination not just for a visit, but for gathering, celebrating and making festive memories.
