Rockwater launches ‘The Pub’

26 Sep, 2025

Bringing the best of British food and drink to Hove’s beachfront

Nestled along Hove’s Western Esplanade, The Pub at Rockwater has quickly become Brighton and Hove’s newest go-to local, blending the best of classic pub culture with Rockwater’s signature coastal charm.

What was once The Lodge has been thoughtfully transformed into a space that honours classic pub traditions while delivering the elevated experience Rockwater is renowned for.

The Pub is now a lively spot where locals and visitors can kick back together and enjoy proper hospitality by the sea. It’s everything a good pub should be, a place to feel at home, catch up over a pint or get competitive at the games tables.

At the heart of The Pub’s offering is its commitment to classic British fare and traditional pub experiences. Guests can start their day with freshly baked pastries before moving on to hearty, oven-baked pies that embody the comfort food traditions Britain is famous for. The menu has also expanded to include wood-fired pizzas and expertly mixed cocktails, alongside traditional Sunday roasts, creating the perfect excuse for those leisurely weekend afternoons that seem to stretch on forever.

The entertainment offerings truly set The Pub apart, featuring classic pub games including pool, darts, and an extensive collection of board games suitable for all ages and interests. These timeless activities create natural conversation starters and foster the kind of friendly competition that has been central to British pub culture for generations.

The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between a laid-back seaside living and the warmth of a neighbourhood pub. Whether guests are seeking a quiet pint by the fire, an afternoon of games with friends or simply a welcoming space to unwind after a day by the sea, The Pub caters to every mood and occasion.

Luke Davis, founder and CEO at Rockwater, says: “A pub isn’t just four walls and a bar, it’s where stories are shared, friendships grow and everyone feels at home. The Pub has successfully achieved this ambition, creating not just somewhere to go, but somewhere to belong.”

From puppy yoga on the terrace to Friday night sessions, the addition of The Pub further expands the Rockwater offering, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
