Sussex Raceday

Plumpton Racecourses’ Sussex Race Day celebrates everything Sussex has to offer, blending the rich heritage of the county, with the thrill of horse racing at a historical, small independent racecourse

Plumpton is nestled at the foot of the South Downs, offering picturesque countryside views as horses thunder past. From the first stride to the final furlong, each race promises excitement and the chance to experience the famous ‘Plumpton Roar’.

Sussex Race Day is held on Sunday 14th April, and will be a day of exhilarating races, local shopping, and also showcase everything that makes Sussex so special. It is a day for the whole family to come together, share in the joys of spring and revel in the camaraderie that makes Plumpton more than just a racecourse. Under 18’s race for free when accompanied by an adult, making it the perfect opportunity to introduce the next generation to the thrill of horse racing!

At Plumpton Racecourse our pursuit of excellence extends beyond the track, with a commitment to providing an unparalleled hospitality experience that goes hand-in-hand with our dedication to supporting local businesses and practicing sustainability.

Join us in our Final Fence and Paddock Restaurant as we celebrate local flavours from artisanal cheese to locally sourced meats, each dish we create is a celebration of the bountiful offering of Sussex and our surrounding communities.

You can also purchase goods from stallholders with everything from artisanal food and drink to handmade crafts. Expect Morris Dancers and entertainment from the local area, this is a day to celebrate community, togetherness, and tradition.
