The truth about the ‘skinny pen’

26 Sep, 2025

Ozempic, Mounjaro and real results

You’ve probably heard the buzz. Ozempic and Mounjaro injectable medications originally designed for type-2 diabetes are being hailed as the next big thing in weight loss.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth: while these drugs can help shift weight, they are not a shortcut to health. And without the right structure and support, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment – and potentially a nervous breakdown when the weight piles back on.

At Coached, we’ve worked with a number of clients who’ve had incredible success while using these medications  but only because they did it the right way – our way!

It started with a full blood panel. No guesswork. Just real data to understand whether the medication was right for their body, metabolism and mental state.

From there, they sat down with a doctor to review everything, not just their weight, but their stress, sleep and mindset.

Once cleared, they didn’t just take the jab and wait for the magic. They followed a periodised resistance-based training programme designed to build muscle and prevent the dreaded ‘skinny-fat’ look. They had a clear nutrition plan focused on protein, not just calories. And they were held accountable by a coach who tracked their progress every step of the way.

That’s where the results came from. Not the pen. The plan. When used in isolation, these medications can cause muscle loss, energy dips and a rebound effect once they are stopped. But when combined with smart coaching, structured training and daily accountability? You create long-term change.

At Coached, we don’t do quick fixes. We do precision plans. Tools like Ozempic and Mounjaro can play a role but they are never the whole story.

If you’re considering the ‘skinny pen’, please, do me a favour and make sure you have a system that supports your health, not just your waistline. We’re committed to your health.
