Underworld

28 Jun, 2024

@Brighton Beach 20/7 13:00

Part of a series of events taking part on the beach, legendary club night Bugged Out! presents electronic heavyweights Underworld. Formed in 1987 in Cardiff they are the collaborative project of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. After two albums the pair recruited DJ Darren Emerson and released their classic, Dubnobasswithmyheadman, to critical acclaim in 1994. With the release of the Second Toughest in the Infants LP they became a worldwide name when their track Born Slippy Nuxx was used in the influential film Trainspotting. Hyde and Smith returned to a duo with Emerson’s departure in 1999 and in 2012 partnered once more with filmmaker Danny Boyle to direct the music for the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics. Today they headline a bill that includes some of the finest DJs and producers in dance music including Erol Alkan, Boys Noize, Chloe Robinson, Eats Everything, Emerald, Fall Forward and Mall Grab.
