James Lavelle founded the Mo Wax record label in 1992 when he was only eighteen years old. In 1996 he released one of electronic music’s most celebrated albums, the seminal Entroducing…. by DJ Shadow, who he soon after started collaborating with on an album. This would become Psyence Fiction by UNKLE which featured collaborations with Richard Ashcroft, Mike D from the Beastie Boys and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. After this release Shadow was replaced by Richard File and a second album, Never, Never, Land appeared in 2003. Alongside numerous releases by UNKLE, Lavelle produced the soundtrack for the film Sexy Beast and the title track for the Queens of the Stone Age album …Like Clockwork as well as DJing around the globe. Tonight he presents a live selection of recent recordings, remixes, reinterpretations and classics which, in tandem with his interest in visual arts, promises to be an immersive engrossing experience.
