Wild Roots: The Intentional Table

Slow Down and savour the moment at Wild Roots: The Intentional Table.

In a world that rarely stops moving, Wild Roots is inviting Brighton and Hove locals to do the exact opposite. Taking place at PLATF9RM Hove this August Bank Holiday, The Intentional Table is a beautifully curated afternoon designed to nourish both body and mind through food, ritual and meaningful connection.

Far more than a lunch, this immersive experience centres around a shared botanical banquet where 60 guests will gather around one long table to enjoy a seasonal four-course plant-based feast. Every dish has been thoughtfully created using functional ingredients, medicinal mushrooms, adaptogens and herbs, celebrating the healing power of plants while encouraging guests to slow down and be fully present.

The experience begins with a botanical welcome drink and the chance to browse a carefully curated wellbeing market, showcasing a small collection of independent traders offering botanical products, wellness tools and conscious crafts. Guests are then guided into a shared dining experience with an opening meditation and food blessing before settling in for an afternoon of conversation, storytelling and exceptional food.

As the afternoon unfolds, moments of reflection and gentle ritual are woven throughout the event, before finishing with a cacao dessert ceremony designed to leave guests feeling grounded, restored and inspired. It’s a refreshing alternative to the usual social gathering, placing genuine connection and wellbeing at the heart of the experience.

Whether you’re passionate about plant-based cuisine, curious about functional foods or simply craving a slower, more intentional way to spend your Bank Holiday, this unique event promises an afternoon unlike anything else on Brighton’s calendar. With just 60 places available, it has been designed as an intimate experience where every guest has space to connect, reflect and leave feeling nourished in every sense of the word.

Wild Roots: The Intentional Table takes place on Mon 31 Aug from 12:00–16:00 at PLATF9RM Hove. Tickets are £77, and with numbers strictly limited, early booking is recommended.
