Artists Open Houses 2026 Now celebrating an impressive 45th year, the event showcases a remarkable 197 venues. Taking place across the first four weekends of May (May 2–4, May 9–10, May 16–17 and May 23–25), Brighton Open Houses once again promises a spectacular, citywide celebration of creativity, bringing together artists, makers and visitors with a unique and interactive cultural experience. Artists Open Houses takes place across Brighton & Hove, extending to Rottingdean and Ditchling and offers visitors and residents a fresh way to explore Brighton and Hove beyond the usual routes. Gen X Gen Z | It’s about growing up when your politics at home is miles ahead of the outside world. Imagine being parented by a Mancunian renegade who stays out all night but gets cross when you do. How does it feel being brown with a white mum? How do you know you’ve done a good job as a parent when you left home at 15? Abra thought her mum was normal until she started school and saw that no one else’s mum looked like hers. This show is a part of caravan assembly, a three-day event that presents contemporary performance made in England to an audience of international programmers and collaborators. The performances are open to the public as part of Brighton Festival and sit alongside a series of industry conversations and discussions for those participating in the assembly. caravan assembly is delivered by Farnham Maltings in partnership with Brighton Festival.
