Dundalk’s finest The Mary Wallopers have announced details of the band’s biggest headline tour to date. Paddywhackery follows up 2023’s hugely acclaimed Irish Rock’n’Roll. That album saw the band grow in confidence, writing their own songs for the first time. Paddywhackery finds them leaping forwards to create an album that sounds like it’s been made by a band with a tightness and a power that’s unparalleled in music right now. Old Man Luedecke | Folklore Sessions Presents; Old Man Luedecke + Pierce Joyce 1st July 2026 | The Folklore Rooms £17adv | 18+ Old Man Luedecke is the recording name of two time JUNO award winning and Polaris prize nominated singer songwriter Chris Luedecke. A multiple East Coast Music Award winner known for his high energy banjo driven stompers, touching guitar ballads and dry humorous stories, Luedecke has been making a soundtrack to an authentic life for nearly twenty years. Born in Toronto and long time resident of the country near Chester Nova Scotia, Luedecke began recording in the early 2000's DIY folk scene of Halifax. He made his two JUNO winning albums for Black Hen Music in the late 00s with Steve Dawson as producer at Vancouver's famed Factory studio. While on a tour of England in 2009, he met and supported folk roots legend Tim O'Brien who produced Luedecke's next two albums. Hearing from writers, musicians, artists, superfans, photographers, filmmakers and everyday music lovers, we dive into personal stories, esoteric bands, fan communities, punk, pop, social change and much more. Originally from Sunderland, she first emerged in the UK underground in bands including Saloon, The Eighteenth Day of May, and, more recently, The Left Outsides, before beginning her solo career in 2018. Her debut, All Is Quiet at the Ancient Theatre, introduced her long-form, place-inspired approach to composition. Folklore Sessions Presents; Andrea Von Kampen + Support 14th August | The Folklore Rooms £14adv | 18+ Andrea von Kampen is a Nebraska-based singer-songwriter whose music blends intimate storytelling, poetic lyricism, and warm acoustic arrangements. Rooted in the landscapes of the Great Plains, her songs explore connection-to the natural world, to one another, and to the quiet moments that shape us. With over 60 million Spotify streams, releases on Fantasy Records, and appearances at some of the most respected folk and Americana festivals, von Kampen has built a devoted global following. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons A unique concert will take place on the 22nd of August at the atmospheric St. George’s Church in Kemptown, Brighton. Join us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. Max Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi's music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. Max Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican, the Paris Philharmonic, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne MacGregor) at Covent Garden. The Original Five play Brighton at The Brunswick on Sunday 6th September – this is bluegrass, country and folk music from the south of Sweden. The Original Five mixes traditional bluegrass with their own material, more well-known, crowd-pleasing country songs and musical excursions into both folk music and gospel. Their’s is a wide spectrum of musical experiences that are held together by the band’s solid bluegrass background. The band started in 2010 as a Jam session at Far I Hatten in Folkets Park in Malmö, Sweden, but since then the music has taken them to festivals and gigs all over Europe and of course the homeland of bluegrass, the USA. They have five own studio albums and have enjoyed many collaborations with other musicians over the years, e.g. a live album in collaboration with a Swiss chamber orchestra. “The band has a seasoned bluegrass sound with flavourful country, hillbilly, and Western Swing influences. Singer, composer and actor David Essex OBE has announced a major 21-date nationwide tour for September 2026 titled ‘Thanks for the Memories’ to celebrate his monumental career. First shooting to fame when he was chosen for the role of Jesus for the London production of ‘Godspell’, David received major awards which then saw him lead a cast at the Roundhouse and then in the West End for two years. Since then, David Essex has enjoyed a remarkable career; writing and producing albums that have sold millions of copies worldwide. He’s had twenty-three Top 30 singles in Britain alone. Folklore Sessions Presents; Axel Flovent + Support 15th October | The Folklore Rooms £15adv | 18+ Axel Flóvent is an Icelandic indie-folk artist whose soft, introspective songs blend Nordic melancholy with a warm, hopeful atmosphere. Growing up in a musical family in Húsavík, he began releasing raw, early demos that led to his breakout single, "Forest Fires," which is now streamed over 90 million times. His music draws from influences such as Bon Iver and Adrianne Lenker, blending gentle folk, ambient textures, and emotional honesty. Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough) | Finnish progressive rock visionaries Von Hertzen Brothers, return to the UK in October 2026 for a very special run of intimate seated theatre shows. Celebrating 25 years as a band, the Finnish band will present a unique live experience unlike anything they have previously brought to UK audiences.
