Calling all green fingered enthusiasts, we have discovered the ultimate workshop for you at hugo & green situated in the stunning Hanningtons Lane. Spend an hour creating your very own terrarium to take home with you.
For those of you who don’t know, a terrarium is a miniature indoor garden enclosed inside a glass vessel. These fascinating creations make unique gifts or look impossibly stylish inside your own home. Hugo & green are giving you the opportunity to attend one of their exclusive workshops so you can make one of your very own.
We chatted to owner John, who explained, ‘In the back of our Brighton store behind our inside greenhouse (terrari-room) we have a small workshop space for classes. Typical classes are for six people so they’re small enough that you’re not lost in the crowd and get as much attention as you need.
In the workshops people will learn how make a bioactive terrarium and get all the bits and pieces to make one of their own and take it home. It’s a super relaxing hour of learning and creating. We talk about the way we make terrariums and why and also about how simple they are to maintain.
We will also be offering kokedama workshops too, where people learn our version of creating a moss ball around a plants roots for a completely unique way to display their plants. We talk about why plants work in this way and how too care for them. All participants will take a plant home with them after making their own.’
The space can be hired for small group events and can also be used outside of hugo & green’s scheduled hours of workshops. So you can do the activities with friends in a private group. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a birthday or would make an unusual hen or stag party option for those who would like to try something different.
The classes take place every Sunday and you can book now through the website. The cost is £55 per person.
