One Garden is a magical place where you can lose yourself in peace and tranquillity. You can just wander through this stunning walled garden then maybe sample delicious food and drink or buying a plant or two. It is rare to find somewhere rooted in the past but strongly focussed on the inspiration for the future.

There is always something different to experience every day, just a 15 minute drive from Brighton city centre. This is the people’s garden.

September begins with the monthly Sunday Outdoor Market on the 1st. Wander the lawns perusing the impressive array of stalls selling arts, crafts, gift wares, fresh produce, deli items and much more from 9:30am — 4:30pm. There is a strong mission within One Garden to support to support local, independent artists and food and drink producers, you’ll find suppliers you know – as well as some new to discover. Maybe sample something from the BBQ or grab a drink and some takeaway snacks.

It’s all about community and fun including supporting local events and charities with live performances.

On the same day, 1st September (10:00am — 2:00pm) you can expand your relaxing experience with Yoga & Forest Bathing.

Enjoy wellness and nature in the scenic countryside of Southdowns National Park. You will start at the garden before heading into the surrounding woodlands to experience Shinrin-Yoku, or forest bathing. You will head into the countryside for yoga on a scenic hill and to explore the woodlands with all your senses.

The term shinrin-yoku means “taking in the forest atmosphere”. You are simply walking through nature and connecting with what’s around you. The practice is proven to reduce stress, improve memory and offer calm and peaceful clarity. Even in light rain the event is lovely but in case of a heavy downpour they will adjust to an indoor/outdoor event

On 3rd September 3:30pm — 5:00pm there’s the Herbal Forage Walk, Talk and Tea. Something that I find particularly appealing. Take yourself on a journey, immersing yourself in nature. You’ll learn to identify and harvest various herbs. After the walk, the talk will dive deeper into the medicinal and culinary uses of these plants. Finally, the day ends with a relaxing tea session, where you can taste some of the herbs you’ve gathered.

So get yourself down to One Garden and immerse yourself in this delightful haven and unwind.
