Feast & Fable: An interactive Family Fringe Show for May Half Term | Light the fire, knead the dough and gather round for a story-cook-along this May half term This May half term, something tasty, toasty and magical is a-rising at Caravanserai as part of this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival. Feast & Fable: A Story Cook-along invites families to step out of the city and into the magical world of the Story Baker. Set in the quirky surroundings of Caravanserai’s new Under the Archway stage, this is not your usual theatre show. Every guest is handed ingredients as they arrive and the familiar tale of Little Red Hen begins, set in the local area. Soon, it becomes clear that this is much more than one story alone, as folk tales and fables from all over the world are brought by migrating birds, along with the ingredients for our dough. This enchanting performance is about sharing and participating to create something wonderful, and will stay with you long after the smell of fresh bread and woodsmoke. Artists Open Houses 2026 Now celebrating an impressive 45th year, the event showcases a remarkable 197 venues. Taking place across the first four weekends of May (May 2–4, May 9–10, May 16–17 and May 23–25), Brighton Open Houses once again promises a spectacular, citywide celebration of creativity, bringing together artists, makers and visitors with a unique and interactive cultural experience. Artists Open Houses takes place across Brighton & Hove, extending to Rottingdean and Ditchling and offers visitors and residents a fresh way to explore Brighton and Hove beyond the usual routes. Flying Circus Art Fair | Brighton Unitarian Church 23-30 May 2026 Applications are already open for UK-based artists to apply Get ready Brighton, something BIG is rolling into town! Flying Circus Art Fair is Brighton’s first affordable art fair. It’s being organised by two Brighton artists, both themselves veterans of multiple exhibitions, BeauBottletops (Jessie Marie / Beau-Events) and Bobby Dazzler. You’re going to be spoilt for choice as we showcase incredible art from over 150 artists as we aim to make this a standout on the arts calendar and must-see venue this Artists Open Houses (AOH) season. The week-long art show also coincides with the Brighton Festival and Brighton Fringe, a month-long celebration of arts, culture and entertainment that brings thousands of tourists to the city every year.
