The Rose Hill Rose Hill Terrace, Brighton

Traditional Mutant Live & Anatolian Grooves vinyl only DJ set Traditional Mutant, featuring Salih Korkut Peker (SKP) and Jabbar, are bringing their completely unique Anatolian Middle Eastern fusion to Brighton and this is not your standard folk, rock or electronic gig. Think Anatolian psych + grunge + arabesque + rebetiko + deep house + breakbeats, all colliding in one improvised, seriously wild musical journey. SKP’s genius is in the instruments as much as the music: cümbüş (a mix of banjo & oud), fretless guitar, çağlama (guitar strings on a saz body), divane (saz body with lute sound), with Jabbar on davul (double-headed drum), darbuka (goblet-shaped single-head hand drum), Tef (hand frame drum) and riq/. Some authentic, some radically modified — all pushed through fuzz, effects, … Burak: Brighton, get ready for something you haven’t heard before. ⚡️ @traditional_mutant :@salihkorkutpeker (SKP) and @jabbaristan are bringing their completely unique Anatolian–Middle Eastern fusion to Brighton and this is not your standard folk, rock or electronic gig.
