Indie Acoustic Night: The Brunswick: Join us on Thursday, the 27th of August. We have four independent acoustic artists, all based on the south coast, for your listening pleasure. Hosted by Charlie Smith (Southampton), we will not just be looking to promote upcoming music but also raise funds for the Music Venue Trust. One pound for every ticket will go to supporting the vital work they do. Every ticket will make a difference, and thanks for your support.

Ian Shaw: When Bowie Met Joni Multi-award-winning singer, Ian Shaw, performs one of his favourite shows, fusing the words and music of two of popular music's genius giants, Joni Mitchell and the much-missed David Bowie. Traversing the mammoth back catalogue of these legendary and influential artists, this solo show draws on stories from the early seventies and our own ideals of love, hope and the endless presence of the darker truths of recent times. Shaw recorded a critically highly-praised album of Joni Mitchell (‘Drawn To All Things’, Linn Records) and has a personal connection to both, which is the core of this exciting show. This promises to be a highly charged evening of tears, laughter and simply great songwriting. Duran Duran - A Celebration An evening celebrating Duran Duran with live vocals, a quiz, prizes & an 80s after party in the bar till midnight! AGE LIMIT: 16+ Anyone under 18 MUST be accompanied by an adult. A night dedicated to one of the most iconic bands of the 80s, brought to life by some of Brighton’s finest performers. Expect live takes on the hits and deep cuts, a Duran Duran quiz (with a prize for those who really know their stuff), and plenty of chances to sing along along the way. Whether you’re here for Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, or the slightly more obscure favourites, there’ll be something for every level of fan. After the live sets, we’ll head to the bar for an 80s disco to keep things going into the night. The Original Five play Brighton at The Brunswick on Sunday 6th September – this is bluegrass, country and folk music from the south of Sweden. The Original Five mixes traditional bluegrass with their own material, more well-known, crowd-pleasing country songs and musical excursions into both folk music and gospel. Their’s is a wide spectrum of musical experiences that are held together by the band’s solid bluegrass background. The band started in 2010 as a Jam session at Far I Hatten in Folkets Park in Malmö, Sweden, but since then the music has taken them to festivals and gigs all over Europe and of course the homeland of bluegrass, the USA. They have five own studio albums and have enjoyed many collaborations with other musicians over the years, e.g. a live album in collaboration with a Swiss chamber orchestra. “The band has a seasoned bluegrass sound with flavourful country, hillbilly, and Western Swing influences. Singer, composer and actor David Essex OBE has announced a major 21-date nationwide tour for September 2026 titled ‘Thanks for the Memories’ to celebrate his monumental career. Will Samson: Folklore Sessions Presents; Will Samson + Support from Gareth Dickson 22nd October | The Folklore Rooms £14adv | 18+ Unbound by genre limitations, Will Samson has spent over a decade exploring the spaces between electronic, folk and ambient sounds focused on immersive listening and analogue recording techniques.?With maternal grandparents born in Chile & West Bengal (subsequently meeting in Kenya), Samson has often displayed a somewhat restless nature in both his artistic and personal life. Born in Oxford, he emigrated soon afterwards with his parents to Western Australia, where he lived for ten years before returning to the UK. A little over a decade later, he began shifting between Oxford and Berlin, then Brighton, Lisbon, Brussels and back to the England. It's clear to see why much of Samson's captivating work has often explored the nature of identity and belonging. Pete first burst onto the scene in the early 90s as the frontman and guitarist of post-shoegaze / pre-Britpop band Adorable, whose 1993 album Against Perfection, released on Creation Records, is regularly referred to as a lost indie classic, with the band picking up multiple ‘Single of the Week’ awards in the NME, and topping the Indie charts. Noel Gallagher once told Creation Records’ Alan McGee that dropping Adorable from the label was one of his biggest mistakes, whilst other artists such as Ash, Slowdive and Brian Jonestown Massacre, amongst others, have all expressed their admiration for the band.
