SON ESTRELLA GALICIA

STAY TUNED. SON ESTRELLA GALICIA ARE BREWING MORE EXCEPTIONAL EVENTS FOR YOU TO ENJOY.

Discover was fortunate enough to attend SON Estrella Galicia’s micro-festival on Saturday 23rd March at iconic live music venue The Prince Albert.

SON Estrella Galicia is an independent, family owned brewery based in Spain who are passionate about creating great tasting, well balanced beer to be enjoyed at authentic music venues. The Prince Albert was testament to this, as one of Brighton’s best loved live music hotspots.

The day commenced with a group beer tasting session where we learnt the brand’s ethos and passions, music and beer, in an exciting interactive session where different beers were sampled and we came to understand how Estrella Galicia is created.

Carlito Burrito were also present serving delicious burritos and quesadillas, with a beer pairing. The food was well received after indulging in a few pints of Estrella Galicia Lager and the brand’s flagship beer, 1906 Reserva Special. The latter won’t be served to the public (yet), but trust us when we say this dark beer at 7% ABV is a delight, rich and chocolatey and extremely palatable. However, the Estrella Galicia lager is being served at The Prince Albert and knocks the socks off many other mainstream offerings. Similar to an IPA, it is fruity but with the characteristics of a lager, light and easy to drink.

Then it was upstairs to soak up some live music from Panic Shack, a Cardiff-based punk sensation whose infectious energy and defiant joy had the crowd rocking. The band embody the ethos of fun and have enjoyed a run of sold-out headline tours and a series of electrifying festival performances, solidifying their status as one of the UK’s most exciting new bands. Joining them was Brighton’s Plantoid, whose eclectic sound palette spans progressive rock to jazz, delivering a performance rich in musical diversity.

In line with the SON Estrella Galicia’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement, the brand launched a beach clean-up activity prior to the event where 22 kilos of plastic was removed by a group of volunteers. The creation of a waste-transforming mural, by Plastic Coast was the result, highlighting a collective dedication to making a positive impact. The festival was not just about entertainment  but also a platform for raising awareness and fostering discussions on sustainable practices within the music and events industry.

This is a brand who care not only about creating a product you will love, they also respect the environment while supporting live music venues which are the beating heart of worldwide communities. We are obsessed.
