Ben Sherman Opens Mono-Brand Flagships in Historic Locales Brighton and Soho

Ben Sherman Launches Flagship Locations in Latest Round of Retail Expansion As Brand Opens Stores in Historic Locales Brighton and Soho.

London, England (Aug 13, 2024). Marking a triumphant return to retail this year, Ben Sherman debuts two new mono-brand concept retail stores in Brighton and Soho this month. The iconic menswear brand’s high-profile summer continues with the announcement of two flagship stores. The new stores are not just in landmark cities but are destinations with deeply rooted significance in Ben Sherman’s six-decade-long fashion history. This development signifies a pivotal moment for the distinguished menswear brand and another significant step toward a new era of nationwide retail expansion.

Following the recent launch of the brand’s Coal Drops Yard pop-up store, strategically positioned to attract Kings Cross locals and Eurostar visitors near the interactive Team GB Fanzones and trains from London to Paris, the highly anticipated Brighton and Soho stores will further bolster Ben Sherman’s expansion plans. These new locations serve as a poignant reminder of the brand’s Brighton heritage, where in 1963, after an inspiring trip to America, Ben Sherman founded his namesake shirt brand. He established a factory in Brighton’s Bedford Square and opened the first store, Millions of Shirts Inc., on Dukes Street, which was later followed by a store on Carnaby Street in London’s Soho.

This month, history is set to repeat as Ben Sherman opens its doors in Brighton, at 19-20 Dukes Lane, with a 1,300 sq ft store. The opening weekend features special gifts with purchases and will be followed by a series of exclusive instore events. The first of these events will be a week-long exhibition by leading sub- culture and notable fashion and music photographer Dean Chalkley The exhibition will commence with a special opening event on August 24. Customers attending the opening day will have the opportunity to have a mini takeaway portrait photo session with Dean Chalkley in person. Subsequently, the Soho store in central London will open at 97 Berwick Street, a 677-square-foot space, on Thursday 29th August. The stores are designed to offer a quintessential Ben Sherman shopping experience, showcasing the very best of the Signature and B By Ben Sherman collections and preview a highly anticipated collaboration capsule collection launching in early September. Heralding a new era of retail expansion, the brand plans to roll out more doors across the country, giving loyal consumers the opportunity to buy the latest collections and special collaboration products in an immersive in-store brand experience.

ABOUT BEN SHERMAN: Ben Sherman was a legend in his own right, he was often described as always embracing the new and the diYerent, and he constantly searched for the very best. Born Arthur Benjamin Sugarman, he began his career making shirts for other designers; it wasn’t long before his creative flair took over, and he started designing his own shirts. By 1963 Ben Sherman was ready to launch his own clothing line. For six decades the iconic Ben Sherman shirt and brand has been adopted by almost every seminal youth culture and style movement; it is revered and worn by today’s style leaders. Today as a global lifestyle brand, Ben Sherman and the original Oxford shirt remain a modern icon; there is simply nothing quite like an original Ben Sherman shirt. www.bensherman.com
