Folklore Sessions Presents; daresay + Nierra Creek + Llsn June 12th | The Folklore Rooms £10adv | 18+ daresay draws on a lineage of open, literate indie songwriting with touchstones like Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and The Dismemberment Plan alongside the lyrical directness of Frightened Rabbit. Small town living and fractured identities haven't really resolved with time. Having come through young adulthood, those same tensions settle into a shared sense of melancholy, forming the backbone of daresay's debut, self-titled EP. Featuring their debut single 'featherweight', which explores the disorientation of rebuilding a sense of self after losing the frameworks that once gave it shape. 'featherweight' reflects on identity as something formed, undone and reassembled through influence, doubt and distance. It sits with uncertainty rather than resolving it. daresay have always been in each other's lives, collaborating on projects throughout their teens and early twenties. A multiple East Coast Music Award winner known for his high energy banjo driven stompers, touching guitar ballads and dry humorous stories, Luedecke has been making a soundtrack to an authentic life for nearly twenty years. Born in Toronto and long time resident of the country near Chester Nova Scotia, Luedecke began recording in the early 2000's DIY folk scene of Halifax. Join us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. Max Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi's music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. Von Hertzen Brothers (Acoustic Enough) | Finnish progressive rock visionaries Von Hertzen Brothers, return to the UK in October 2026 for a very special run of intimate seated theatre shows. Celebrating 25 years as a band, the Finnish band will present a unique live experience unlike anything they have previously brought to UK audiences.
